Traditionally, beer is a male dominated drink and industry. Women have been overlooked in many ways, especially in their contribution to the craft beer movement here in America. Women are major contributors to the industry and not just as Beer Goddesses (though that is certainly an important role). With that in mind, Flying Saucer Kansas City has designed a series of events highlighting the amazing contributions women have made to our favorite beverage.
The Women of Craft Beer
The Women of Craft Beer series starts August 6 and runs through August 26. This is your chance to attend special events featuring prominent women from the craft beer community, as well as special tappings of our favorite breweries.
August 6th: International IPA Day featuring a special tapping of Founders BliS Blast All Day IPA, a Flying Saucer exclusive in KC. Special guest: Founders Brewing Co’s Ashley Krull.
August 13th: Lagunitas Brewers Table with Head Brewer Mary Bauer. Featuring: Mozanga, Lil’ Sumpin Special, Gnarleywine and Pilsner along with food pairing from Chef Derek Owen.
August 19th: Cinder Block Glass night with special Willi Becher. Special guest: Cinder Block’s Sarah Hearn.
August 20th: Tallgrass Tap night with, amongst others, Wooden Rooster. Special guest: Tallgrass’ Courtney Pierson.
August 26th: New Belgium tutored tasting and glass night with supervising brewer Tamar Banner.
