Kansas City Flying Saucer partnered with five local breweries for a special beer dinner during Kansas City Craft Beer Week. The breweries included Boulevard Brewing Co., Cinder Block Brewery, Torn Label Brewing Co., and Martin City Brewing Company. The menu paired locally sourced ingredients with special, rare offerings from each of these breweries.
Prior to the dinner, a handful of lucky Beerknurds were treated to a special private tasting with one of our favorite beer writers, Stephen Beaumont. Stephen held court discussing beer and food. Copies of his book, The Pocket Beer Guide 2015 (written with Tim Webb), were available. Check it out along with his newest work, The Beer and Food Companion.
The evening was a blast and celebrated everything that craft beer is about: high-quality beer brewed with care and skill and a community of people united in their appreciation of that care and skill. If you missed out, make sure you’re following your local Flying Saucer on social media for upcoming events where you’ll get the exclusive opportunity to taste rare, special beers, chat with heroes from the industry and drink with other craft beer lovers.
Until then, enjoy this fine beer porn…
