Founders CBS 2015

The Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout is a bucket list worthy beer.

The official Facebook posting came late in the afternoon Thursday, March 12, that the highly sought-after CBS 2015 would start flowing at 5PM that night.

“There was a line to order this super rarity,” says Addison manager, Andrea Smith.

For the uninitiated, the Canadian Breakfast Stout is an imperial stout brewed with chocolate and coffee then aged in MAPLE SYRUP-BOURBON BARRELS. The first batch of Founders Brewing Co. CBS appeared in 2011 and was “usually among the top-five highest-rated beers in the world on BeerAdvocate.”

The 2015 batch was released in early winter and has made rare, quickly disappearing appearances around the country. Weighing in at 10.6 percent, this is one smooth, delicious treat for all those lucky enough to have a snifter full.

Flying Saucer Addison’s keg lasted about two and a half hours and was enjoyed by all (well, those fortunate enough to score a taste). Were you one of the lucky few? Let us know what you thought about the CBS 2015 in the comments.
